About us
At Nosim Women Organization, we are driven by a mission to empower women and girls to overcome systemic challenges, break cultural barriers, and thrive in every aspect of life. Rooted in the heart of the Maasai community in Kajiado, Kenya, our work spans over two decades, dedicated to creating lasting change through education, advocacy, and community development.
Who We Are
Founded in 2001, Nosim Women Organization is a community-driven non-governmental organization (NGO) that focuses on uplifting marginalized groups, particularly women and girls. “Nosim” is derived from the Maasai word that signifies “when a woman gets a child, she becomes happy”—a testament to our commitment to fostering joy, dignity, and opportunities for all women.
We work at the grassroots level to address pressing challenges, including poverty, gender-based violence (GBV), female genital mutilation (FGM), maternal health, and climate change. By providing resources, education, and advocacy, we empower women to lead healthier, more prosperous lives while building stronger, more equitable communities.
